Several lines of evidence support the potential value of unobtrusive monitoring systems for detecting elevated levels of depression, anxiety, and suicide risks, in particular, those associated with PTSD and CTE.
PixelCare will monitor and analyze social media text, SMS/MMS text, email text, overall mobile device usage patterns, and geolocation data; all based on the permissions granted. This process and associated methods are highly secure and maintain strict individual privacy.
Natural-language “accountability avatar”, also known as “KNUTE”. KNUTE stands for Knowledge Network Understanding Text Engine. KNUTE interacts with users to provide periodic mood and overall well-being feedback and coaching on intuitive behavioral corrections when monitoring and analysis deems appropriate. PixelCare’s accountability avatar learns individual user behavior overtime, measuring and monitoring emotional well-being.
PixelCare’s AI-based risk detection can reliably detect elevated symptoms known to be associated with PTSD and CTE through our unobtrusive monitoring system. Detection often relies on disclosure to a therapist or physician. A significant percentage of patients who attempt suicide or died by suicide never acknowledge or disclose having suicidal ideations during sessions or when asked directly. Our research, in partnership with Ohio State University’s Institute for Behavioral Medicine Research, concludes that digital information-based risk detection systems can reliably detect elevated PTSD and CTE symptoms.
Each PixelCare user will be asked to establish one or more “accountability partner(s)” (“AP”). An AP is often a family member, close friend or therapist; essentially someone the user trusts or someone designated as a caregiver. APs will receive occasional notifications that suggest they “check on” the user based on predefined well-being statuses, and they may be asked to provide occasional behavioral observations about the user. APs, along with designated providers, may receive alerts that indicate a detected high-risk status. Such early warnings can serve as a means of intervention for seeking immediate care and avoiding tragic outcomes.
